Alex de Minaur is debuting at the Nitto ATP Finals and is the first Australian singles player to compete in the season finale since former No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings Lleyton Hewitt made the final in 2004.

De Minaur was out for more than a month after the US Open due to injury, but found his form immediately upon his return to charge into the eight-player field. He reached a career-high World No. 6 in July and was always in the mix at the biggest tournaments, reaching three major quarter-finals.

The 25-year-old claimed two titles this season, successfully defending his Acapulco crown and emerging victorious at ’s-Hertogenbosch.
